Strolling south on Bellair Avenue, the urban park is lit up by green mist-emitting light columns between rows of trees. We usually don't frequent this high-end neighbourhood. Yangdian Taoist Temple
Upper and lower level rooms each house one or more deities representing a variety of qualities, ringing two large buildings in the courtyard centre. Gate fee gave me a bundle of joss sticks, I followed the cue of others to light them, bow four directions, and then stand the sticks up in an urn of ashes. Yamate Dori gate, Shinagawa-ku
Unexpected wooden gate at west end of main street, just northeast of Shimbamba station. Wayfaring for a new art gallery, routed through Shinagawa station, intending on train 2 stops south, but mistakenly got trapped on the express service to Haneda Airport. Rear view of facade facing Queen Street shows steeple and stained glass windows as last to be demolished in lot from Booth Avenue to Logan Avenue. Our laneway that dead ends to the north is usually still open, with a hazard tape strung across the path periodically. Dance platform in front of Son de Cuba Orquestra at Beaches Jazz Latin Carnival, for audience who can't sit still to the beats. Many families in lounge chairs enjoying the music and weather, fenced off area for beer garden to the south. Such an embarrassment of riches for music festivals this summer, so little time. Woodbine Beach

Wong's Ice Cream
Took home vegan coconut mango sticky rice ice cream + vegan lemongrass lime sorbet, after we sampled a variety of flavours. Wanted to take a packed pint of the former, but small daily production lots meant two scoops of two flavours instead. New business only opened in neighbourhood in the past few months. Generations of jazz @UofTMusic, with @MyriadThree as second of five acts in a soft seat theatre. Musicians unusually encouraged to fill time with chat, as rearranging instruments and stands on stage took time.
