- Regional cuisine in Iowa
Enjoying lunch just off town square, at a classic locale in small town Iowa. Seated at the round table, as depicted in the painting on the wall: a group of locals that used to meet everyday for breakfast, and then again for lunch. Restaurant had been in operation done the 1960s, now on third owner. The walleye serving was mammoth, a great order of fish with battered fries. (Frontier Family Restaurant, Washington, Iowa) 20150727 - Riverside
Jackfruit 20 lb. after Chinatown family dinner, with all sons at home. Their grandfather had never tried jackfruit before, it grows in Vietnam, not China. Boiling seeds, they are supposed to taste like potato. (Riverside district, Toronto, Ontario) 20170717 - 20120520 Pine Hills Cemetery

Birthday celebration on Christmas Eve led us to choose an Israeli cafe downtown, in a reverse of the Jewish tradition of dining in Chinese restaurants during holiday season. Casual, buzzy atmosphere, with many dishes shared by the family. Table eventually became too small for all of the orders, we had to rearrange platings. (Cafe Landwer, University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20231224 - Pre-Fathers Day
Two sons still in town, so Saturday lunch uptown to meet with grandfather. Summer schedules are getting complicated, hard to find a day not already booked. Playing @Doors_OpenTO with Litter Vacuum vehicle, parked outside the maintenance garages at one City of Toronto venue. Building wasn't open for touring. I worked in this office in the summer of 1979 as a business analyst, before the days of electronic spreadsheets. We moved into our home just down the street in 1988. (Transportation Services, City of Toronto, 433 Eastern Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20170527 - Hankou Railway Station
Ground travel day Wuchang to PVG. Student guided me to train station. Chose subway over taxi in rush hour, won't next time as had to wait multiple full trains. Good to have translator to pick up rail tickets. Glad for reserved window seat, some rode standing room. At Hongqiao, ticket line short, annoyed that machine switched to coins only. Missed Line 2 change at Guanglan Road on first try, so backtracked. Da Zhong hotel at PVG said reservation cancelled at 6 pm, relented when I showed hold to 10 pm. (Hankou Railway Station, Wuhan, China) 20160318 - Berczy Park
Illuminated stack of presents of the Old Town Cavalcade of Lights topped by giant white bone continuing the fun of the #ClaudeCormier (2017) Dog Fountain that is unlit for the winter season. The 27 dog statues looking up at the golden bone on top of the fountain have water turned off from November through April. With chilly temperatures, many pedestrians crossing through the park at the end of the work day. (Berczy Park, Wellington Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20231123 - Heilige Geestcollege
In foreground, work bike for delivering kegs of beer. Wth the history of the University of Leuven dating back to 1425, and closures during period of French and Netherlander rule, the Catholic University from 1835 was French-speaking, until a split in 1970 changed the institution to a Flemish (Dutch) language institution. (Heilige Geestcollege (Holy Chost College), Naamsestraat, Leuven, Belgium) 20211108 - Light & Salt
Dinner with view overlooking the Bund and Pudong across Huangpu River. Almost a year ago, we had dinner in Helsinki, and were wondering where we would all meet next. Three of us were in Shanghai in March, and then another three were in Helsinki in August. We've had a lot of life changes in the past 12 months, it seems like just yesterday. (Light & Salt at Rockbund, Waitan district, Shanghai, PR China) 20171119 - Rainbow Cinema Market Square

A new path not taken, as the tunnel to the Island Airport is an option for pedestrians. Drivers who want to park on the Island can still wait for the ferry. The ship sailed just as we approached the water. (Toronto Island Ferry) 20150825
