- Tongji U
One of many bikeshare clusters on the sidewalk boulevards in Shanghai. Mobike orange, Ofo yellow and Xiaoming blue services don't have dockng stations, it's easy for a subscriber to scan a barcode with a mobile phone to unlock the clamp, ride away, and drop off near destination. High volume cheap bikes everywhere are a sharp contrast to the North American style of higher quality infrastructure spread further apart. (Tongji University, Shanghai, P R China) 20170406 - Akerselva River at Vulkan
Rainy morning 10 minute walk north to AHO includes crossing scenic Akerselva River at Vulkan complex. Calming start to the day. - Cantor Center, Stanford

(Chicago Chop House, River North, Chicago, Illinois) 20150801 - Pho House
Casual Canada Day dinner out in neighbourhood resto, at leisure. Sons used to eat lunch at this location in high school days. The business across the street moved in, when the other Viet business moved out. (Pho House, Gerrard Street East, Toronto) 20170701 - Dragon Pearl
Table for 20, as our full family extended by sister's clan in town for wedding. Chinese buffet restaurant laid out in long table makes conversation unfortunately difficult. More occasions for family gatherings this weekend. (Dragon Pearl Restaurant, York Mills Road, Don Mills, Ontario) 20170525 - Salina, Iowa
Inspecting crops in backyard garden, only a few cherries tomatoes ripe enough for a taste, today. Heavy metal fences are overkill in deterring predators, they happened to be on hand for corralling horses. It's been 5 years since we last visited, a deck was since constructed fully around the house. (Salina, Iowa) 20220708 - Yonge-Dundas Square
Facing southwest @YDSquare, four of 12+ screens @EdwardBurtynsky (2022) In the Wake of Progress @Luminato Festival with 360-degree immersion and booming sound. Plaza occupied by small groups of viewers looking upwards at images captured over 40 years. Second evening of two, arrived at dusk. (Yonge-Dundas Square, Toronto, Ontario) 20220612 - Centre for Social Innovation
First return to CSI building in almost 2 years, murals are brighter than i remember. We decided to scope out the readiness for a regular Systems Thinking Tea, in the Climate Ventures space, having continued core team meetings triweekly. Looks like community mostly hasn't returned to shared offices, doors are locked by 5pm. (Centre for Social Innovation, Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20211028 - Sugar Beach
Ride by DY along Waterfront Trail from Portlands to HTO Park and back was the first time in many years. Canada Day weekend a less than ideal time on the bike paths, as so many pedestrians obliviously inattentive. (Sugar Beach, Queens Quay East, Toronto, Ontario) 20170703 - Wolfson College

Contents included updates of 2013 book, plus "Payment is applause: markets and business models past, present and future" given at Wolfson@50 anniversary lecture on the previous date. (Wolfson College, Cambridge, England) 20151119 - Art Week Helsinki at the Cable Factory
Slow Sunday on west side of a Helsinki. Free art exhibition less interesting than cavernous building, finished roughly. Grey day outside, but mild the enough for walking and talking. - Libby Leshgold Gallery
Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan (2017) "Bound: Project Another Country", luggage and rope. Gallery just opened last week in new building. opened in September, fortunate timing for our west coast visit. (Libby Leshgold Gallery, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, BC) 20171030 - Lalibela
Birthday on Thanksgiving with out-of-town visitor had AKY celebrating with friends dining on Ethiopian cuisine. Tight schedule, so their quartet ordered before our family arrived. (Lalibela, Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20171009 - Serano Bakery
Family-run Greek neighbourhood bakery, for crusty whole wheat bread and taramasalata. An exercise destination, biking uphill in below-freezing weather, past two artisanal bakeries who offer products at twice the price. Large store with sweets for dessert. Will sample with family at dinner tonight, and judge whether we'll become repeat customers. (Serano Bakery, East York, Ontario) 20151228
