ISSS 2016 Boulder plenary - Edward Gardens
Annual tradition of revisiting the fountain and renewing our vows, with a rare occasion to have all four sons in town at the same time, with grandfather. Reversed order to have dinner earlier, and then stroll around the gardens before dusk. Noted that we will lose our photographer from the past few years, as an official marriage means she should be included in future years. (Edward Gardens, Lawrence Avenue East, Don Mills, Ontario) 20220824 - Edward Gardens
Following the annual ritual, slow stroll down the hill and over the brook. Fences diverting pedestrians away from the north bank, construction in progress. Plants unfortunately looking a little stressed with the summer heat alert. (Edward Gardens, Lawrence Avenue East, Don Mills, Ontario) 20210824 - Edward Gardens
Returned to the fountain for the 36th time, reflecting on our time together since the last visit, and committing for another year. Annual visit is timed well, I can't remember any rain except for the day of the wedding so many years ago. Seems like fewer people enjoying the park this year. (Edward Gardens, Lawrence Avenue East, Don Mills, Ontario) 20210824 - Edward Gardens
Annual visit to the nuptial site, 35th revisiting of our commitments. Sons remarking on the number of return trips yet to come. So warm outside, plans to dine at a patio were abandoned in favour of the first seated restaurant meal in six months, following social distancing protocols. (Edward Gardens, Don Mills, Ontario) 20200824 - Edward Gardens
Renewal of vows for 34th year, original venue fountain is still the same, a few more flowers in the background. Noticed more improvements and construction around the grounds. Family dinner of Hakka cuisine a change. (Edward Gardens, Lawrence Avenue East, Don Mills, Ontario) 20190824 - Edward Gardens
Willet Creek flows south into the Don River West, after the bridges over the lower walks of the park. Absences of one son in California and another on an airplane is okay, they know the course well. (Edward Gardens, Lawrence Avenue East, Don Mills, Ontario) 20180824 - Edward Gardens
The 33rd time we've reconvened at the fountain to renew our marital commitment. CL was thoughtful in giving us flowers to celebrate the occasion. This year, the weather was cool and the fountain was drained. (Edward Gardens, Lawrence Avenue East, Don Mills, Ontario) 20180824 - Edward Gardens
Ducks flocking to creek bank for snacks. Most paths from gardens at higher level closed, blocked for maintenance. Some bridges closed due to recovery from high waters. (Edward Gardens, Don Mills, Ontario) 20170824
