- Brookfield Place
In #AllenLambertGalleria, #StudioFMinus (2022) Snowfall:Frost is a 20-foot tall blue interactive sculpture inspired by the Y shape of the corridors, repeated in fractal patterns as might be seen in a frosted-over window plane. Rows of smaller ceiling fixtures in white carry the theme into the alcoves. Out bicycling downtown on a warmer than usual day, but sunset persists in late afternoon. (Brookfield Place, Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20221126 - Bronze of Lester B. Pearson by Niilo Kalerno Kallio, Toronto Pearson Airport, Terminal 1
A gift from Antti Potila, president of Finnair 1989. The irony is that this bronze is in Terminal 1, after the security scan and overlooking the plaza to the Air Canada domestic gates, while Finnair flies to Terminal 3. - Brightlane #DrupalCampTO
Panel @DrupalCampTO with @suzanne_kennedy, Colan Schwartz, @BeCircle + @walkah, @LuckhardtLabs moderating. "Drupal's Past, Present & Future" looked back at first Drupal Camp in 2006, but histories back to 2002. (Brightlane, King Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20160415 - BrightLane
Gitflow + Drupal introduction by @nafes15 for @DrupalTO monthly meeting. Some came to learn about Git, some came to catch up on Drupal. Could use Git for a centralized workflow, but networked workflows allow Feature branches that don't impact the main branch with conflicts; and/or GitFlow with multiple branches, e.g. production and development. (BrightLane, Long Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20160530 - BrightLane
Daylight @DrupalTO meetup seems to have not been the pattern for this venue. Getting an update on D8, haven't attended since the days of D6. Architectural changes mean front end frameworks like Angular, Ember and React are now at play. (BrightLane, King Street West, Toronto. Ontario) 20160328 - Bridge of Uzupis
Entering the Republic of Užupis on International Liars Day, border agents stamped our passports as we crossed the Vilnia River into the bohemian art district The theme for the 25th anniversary of the self-proclaimed republic is a protecting and nurturing angel, whose trumpet proclaims fellowship and faith in openness. We found the wall with the English version of the Užupis Constitution that encourages tolerance in Lithuania, including Man has the right to make mistakes. (Bridge of Užupis. Vilnius, Lithuania) 20230401 - Bridge NGL 15/X49
Public footbridge beside Guildford Viaduct over River Wey rail crossing reflects British multifunction design, as pedestrians served as well as as trains. Narrow path on south side of New Guildford Line (NGL) starts from Woodbridge Road at the east, to Woodbridge Meadows on the west. Forest naturally shades the path. Route jogs closer to rail built at higher level, going around the Sea Cadets camp. Low stress walk to university in the morning, steps at west end not so welcoming for the cyclist hoisting his ride. (Guildford Viaduct over River Wey, UK) 20150710 - Bridesmaids at Burwash Hall Gate House
A rainy Saturday at Victoria College, University of Toronto presents a challenge for a photographer trying to capture a wedding day. Maybe 7 bridesmaids in pink. Groom and bride to the left, photographer to the right. Was on campus today for the annual Victoria College Booksale. (Toronto) 20130921 1323 - Brick oven
Custom-made pizza in only a few minutes, when the fire is already hot. Friday afternoon at 3:30, bakery wasn't busy, so a good destination for a casual business meeting. Strudel and cookies for dessert, could have brought fresh bread home. Chose location so that friend could beat traffic from city centre to the east end, he dropped me off for the westbound subway. (Calabria Bakery, Midland Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario) 20151106 - Brian Cauley, Neighbourhood Messages
Installation of school desk and typewriter for messages on tags to be hung from the tree. Late Tuesday afternoon saw a mother and daughter in composition, otherwise the art space was unoccupied. Brian Cauley, "Neighbourhood Messages" is part of A Piece of a City with Art of the Danforth. (East Lynn Park, Toronto) 20120605 1853 - Brewery Creek Mount Pleasant
Flowering cherry trees in full blossoms along many streets, planted in Vancouver since the 1930s. Visiting town for a four days to visit DY's family, routing PVG-YVR-YYZ at no extra charge. With 9-hour time zone change over the international date line, opted for a basement apartment in a residential house towards the east side. (Brewery Creek / Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, east 12th Street, Vancouver, BC) 20180425 - Brass Transit at Unionville Bandstand before dusk
Arrived in time for Brass Transit to start covers of Chicago, sat at sidestage picnic table. Sound clear, except for vocals, which is okay for musician listeners who already know all of the words and are focused on instruments. (Unionville, ON) 20110818 2007 - Brass Transit at Unionville Bandshell after dark
Sidestage at the Unionville Bandshell to hear Brass Transit covering Chicago, over 2 hours of music. Audience gave standing ovation. Bands in Toronto rearranged, as saw Paul De Long (drums), Don Breithaupt (keyboards) and Bob McAlpine (guitar) with Pretzel Logic playing Steely Dan just 5 days earlier (Unionville, ON) 20110818 20:43 - BOZAR
Installation in progress @BOZARbrussels Victor Horta Hall, wonderfully lit by skylights. Wandered in via BOZAR Architecture galleries, pleasant surprise with the richness of space given to the works. Belgian sense of humour in calling the Centre for Fine Arts Brussels as BOZAR, as Francophones will recognize the derivation from Palais des Beaux-Arts (with the Flemish name of Paleis voor Schone Kunsten not so easy to connect). Arrived in Brussels on overnight flight this morning, we're dragging ourselves around town, looking forward to an early bedtime. (BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts Brussels, Belgium) 20150923 - Boulevard Anspach
On All Saints' Day, exited De Brouckère metro station and started walking south. Looking back northward, surprised to see so many people out enjoying the clear skies on a public holiday, with many large retailers open for commerce. Historically a street built covering the River Senne between 1868 and 1871, it was only in 2012 that the road was closed on Sundays from vehicular traffic, finally become car-free in 2015. Electric scooters seem popular, nimbly weaving around pedestrians. (Boulevard Anspach south of Rue Grétry, Brussels, Belgium) 20211101
