- 36 Lisgar Street
Moderating the White Elephant Holiday Potluck, with attendees contributing gifts to the pool. Each then drew a sequence to choose an unwrapped gift, or steal the gift of a prior selector. Good opportunities for catching up with friends, starting at 4pm and running through 11pm. (36 Lisgar Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20221230 - 3600 Steeles Ave. E.
IBM Master Clock built circa 1945 in Endicott, NY, on display in the corridor outside IBM Canada HQ module A2. Noticed artifact on a "take your father to work day" informally with my son, as I had a lunch meeting with a friend. (IBM Canada Ltd., 3600 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, Ontario) 20170823 - 391 Yonge Street
Not an art installation, but three concrete piers with rebar in a gravel field, for reuse from the prior building? From the 1950s to 1970s, Bassel's Restaurant was a classy pre-theatre diner, taking up 3 storefronts on Yonge Street. Hoardings now block the view of 3 Gerrard Street East, as the YSL (Yonge Street Living) Residences site as been abandoned, and Cresford Development is in receivership. From O'Keefe Lane, the open pit construction deepens to the south, frozen in time. (391 Yonge Street, 3 Gerrard Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20210605 - 401 Richmond Street West
Centre courtyard in arts-and-culture hub is a quiet spot in the Queen Street West district, slightly barren during the winter cold. Industrial structure originally dating back to 1899 is in contrast to the condo apartment tower to the east built in 2000. Travel crosstown took especially long on a Saturday afternoon, with police routing traffic around the Queens Park siege. (401 Richmond Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20220212 - 475 Unwin Ave.
Circular turnout is Outer Harbour Recreational Node, surmised from sign outlining waterfront fish from Lake Ontario safe to eat. Officially opened in 2015, I hadn't noticed it before. Also discovered pave bicycle path through the bushes eastbound to Tommy Thompson Park. (Outer Harbour Recreational Node, Unwin Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20180827 - 6th Ave. At 53rd St.
NYC food trucks, customers dining al fresco, street performer fiddling, late afternoon with a March chill. Around the corner from the Museum of Modern Art, where we saw the new new Bjork Black Lake video installation, 2 facing screens, 49 speakers on walls and ceiling. (New York City) 20150324 - 72 Perth Avenue
Wooden balls almost hidden at base of #AndreaCarlson (2022) Never-Ending Monument of 28 columns @TorontoBiennial . Sculpture related to Man Mound ancient earthework in Wisconsin, that bridges supernatural and natural worlds, and life and death. Progressive visits to contemporary art on Friday morning, sites are across town from home. (72 Perth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20220408 - 875 Queen Street East
Former Woodgreen Pharmacy building gone, wall of former Woodgreen Red Door Shelter in deconstruction. Had never been inside building, soon there won't be any structure to see. (875 Queen Street East, southwest corner at Logan Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20170122 - 887 Queen Street East
Building on corner wrapped up for deconstruction. Pharmacy moved east to another location a few months ago, in anticipation. Ground frost and snow could be a month away, so site could be ready for construction when temperatures warm up again. (887 Queen Street East at Logan Avenue, Riverside, Toronto, Ontario) 20161115 - @Nuvango Gallery DwD

Tara Davidson sax, @DanielRFortin bass, @ErnestoCervini drums @TorontoLibrary North York concourse for early evening set. Band has known each other more than a decade. Played a lot of new original songs, yet to be recorded, including "31 Days", which is how long it took Tara to write it last year. (North York Central Library) 20150615 - Abbaye de la Cambre
Duck pond south of the chapel, in the Maelbeek valley, with the site originally founded in 1196. Buildings were destroyed in the religious wars of the 1600s and 1700s, and rebuilt in 18th century. Repressed during the French Revolution, the buildings after the abbey closed were used for a military school, and occupied by Germans in WWI. In 1921, a group moved to preserve the abbey, and started reconstruction in 1924. In 1953, the property was designated a historic site. (Abbaye de la Cambre, Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium) 20211110 - Abbozzo Gallery
Oxygen-producing bioart, @VladimirKanic (2021) Book of Waves, Part 6 is about a foot square, mounted on the wall alongside others in the series. Sculpture is made from biodegradable bioplastics, algae lives with the carbon dioxide in the air expelled by visitors. The show lights up the front window of the gallery, slight pump sounds are audible inside when close to the piece. (Abbozzo Gallery, 401 Richmond Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20220212
