Circa-2009 PC power supply diagnosed as dead. Replaced, plugged in to Asus P5E-VM motherboard, discovered disk partitioned with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.04. Fixed startup with Boot Repair, BIOS predates USB installation, so DVD disks required. Brought computer tower home and updated to Xubuntu 16.04, runs great with 6GB RAM. The Praying Mantis sculpture (2010), created for Burning Man by Kirk Jellum, was installed at Fremont Street at N 7th Street in 2013, sponsored by Zappos. Wider selection of breads in front window of neighbourhood bakery, pies and pastries in the cases behind. Chose rye bread for a change, will return for multigrain on another trip. Neo-psychedelic indie rock @EchoBand Echo announced songs in Mandarin, and had audience dancing in their seats. Detailed instructions of directions for hands, up, down, left, right. Much of the audience wouldn't understand the lyrics, but music plus demonstrations are a universal language. Taiwan Fest also had The Art of Seating, Pan-Asian Culinary Competition, and the Holy Sheep from LunarFest.
