Paleo vegan dinner low in carbs, emphasizing proteins and greens. We split the Caveman pizza and a Lamburgini sandwich made with cassava bread. Servers behind the counter attentive to needs, advising on suggestions, in a semi-chaotic lines jumping around delivery as hand-made timing. (Caveman Cafe, E. Pender Street, Vancouver, BC) 20171026 - YUL mini marche
Convenience store at Montreal airport offers selection of wine and beer. Alcohol may be a part of everyday life in the French-heritage province, but in the next province west in Ontario, the retail channel is government-owned stores. My local colleague and American visitor shrugged their shoulders at my noticing the everyday (Montreal) 20120313 1011 - St. Michael's Eye Clinic
Ophthalmological surgeon @StMikesHospital with model of eye, explaining posterior capsule opacification that was causing haziness in the left eye, following surgery for a trauma-induced cataract repaired in 2006. Performed YAG laser capsulotomy to open up an aperture through epithelial cells proliferating towards the visual axis. Procedure was painless, with a minor sensation of hearing clicking inside my head, when the laser was on. Preparation took a few years, working through prescription eye drop variants that would eventually reduce eye pressure. (St. Michael's Hospital Eye Clinic, Queen Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20180918 - Institute of Contemporary Art Boston

View off back of the Seabus is better than that out the front, on both directions. Met with DY's friend for lunch in Lonsdale Quay, had a view of workmen painting concrete barriers yellow. Snow on the mountaintops gradually receding in the warm spring sunshine. (Lonsdale Quay from Seabus, Vancouver Harbour, BC) 20180427 - Shady Island Seafood

At Climate Ventures space @csiTO for afternoon meeting. Discussed programs, research, potential peer circle topics. Open to new ideas for the new cohort. I'm thinking that starting small may work better for emerging methods. (Centre for Social Innovation, 192 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20181004 - Jasmine Osmanthus Blooming Tea
Luxury tea break in the office at the business school. Since I haven't had an assigned office in about 20 years, I had forgotten that people can personalize their spaces for creature comforts. Jasmine-Osmanthus blooming tea picked up by Jennifer on her last visit to China. For this grade of tea, she says it's not really cheaper there, than imported here.
