- Kolbeh
Persian restaurant sees koobideh kebab sampled by two, while the majority opts for the more familiar falafel. We'll join the rest of the family in the North Bay, for the official ceremonies tomorrow. Installation illuminated at night, at Vancouver Art Gallery Outside, Hand Vote (2008) by Kota Ezawa. On Georgia Street, a main stream, between two towers, could be easy to miss if not on foot. (Vancouver) 20120308 1910 - Kotkankatu
Fusion cooking with Finnish homemade vintage apple cider added to Korean sweet potato noodles in vegan japchae. Bean curd sticks with shitake mushrooms and oyster sauce are classic Chinese monk food. Last time I made mapo tofu for MT and PT, it included the ground pork that they now prefer to avoid. Cooking in this household is always a team sport. (Kotkankatu, Hameenlinna, Finland) 20170812 - Krakow airport construction
Reports of Krakow Terminal 1 as work in progress is accurate. Coming from a university campus due for completion in 2015, Polish economy seems healthy. Food and lodging seems cheaper than other European cities. - Kremser Gasse
Across from St. Polten train station is an attractive shopping street that I might visit, if I had more time. This town is the state capital on the main line between Munich and Vienna, and more developed than the destination of Krems where our conference was held. This brief stop was the first of three this evening to position for a plane westward tomorrow. (Kremser Gasse, St. Polten, Lower Austria) 20171021 - L'Amoreaux neighbourhood
Couldn't find my chain tool, got a hand to repair a break from a bad shift on the bike I bought in the spring. Research paper deadlines and job change had the wheels hanging n the garage for months. Tuning up the drivechain, couldn't get the full range of gears, but this ride should be an improvement over my winter bike. (L'Amoreaux neighbourhood, Scarborough, Ontario) 20210815 - L'Amoureaux Park
Dusk on bike path entrance southwest of McNicoll Ave. and Kennedy Road, along hydro tower right-of-ways. Scarborough has large parks. Biking to TTC Line 2 to Line 3, then biking to my father's apartment took a lot longer than I recalled, and the fast traffic encourages riding on sidewalks devoid of pedestrians. Driving may be a better alternative. (L'Amoureaux Park, Scarborough, Ontario) 20160927 - La Boutique Salon
Spa day in the city, #LaBoutique Salon for lash extensions. DY is now glad to have a daughter in the family with friends into aesthetics, after decades with four sons. Popular venue with many families on Sunday afternoon, shade welcomed after a sunny day up and down the nearby climbs. (La Gruta, Teotihuacan, Mexico) 20191223 - La Sagrada Familia
On the Nativity Facade, rode to elevator up to 65 metres of the 98 metre height, and started the 504-step descent on the spiral staircase. A few minutes down, through the chain links covering an open window, the pinnacles on the apse pediment feature sculptures of the spring fruit of the Virgin Mary. e.g. rose hips, oleaster, dates, olives and grapes. Other visitors were patient with our careful stepping on shaded steps, our thighs were wobbly near the end. (La Sagrada Familia, Calle de Mallorca, Barcelona, Spain) 20221004 - La Tour d'An Tiem
Lunch reception for wedding of graduate school roommate of 1981-1982 from Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He came to our wedding in Toronto in 1985, and we reciprocated in Brussels in 2015. We're now both working on our first marriages. (La Tour d'An Tiem, Woluwe Saint-Pierre) 20150926 - LACMA
