Public art installation on west face of Vancouver building tower at Canada Place. Liam Gillick (2009) "Lying on top of a building the clouds / looked no near than when / I was lying on the street". With no spaces between the words, reading the text would be better on a non-rainy day to decipher the meaning. In gallery opened in August 2022, Giorgio De Chiirico 1947 Le Muse Inquietanti (The Disquieting Muses) was a verifalsi (true fake) copying his own work in 1916. The original is in a collection of italian futurists in Milan. Allusion to the muses of tragedy and comedy, with industrial buildings in the background. Public art installation of crayon yellow alien with 6 spiderlike legs, by #BlueRepublic (2016), 4.5 metres in height amongst smaller human-scale artifacts, has a blue counterpart blowing a horn across the street. Around the midtown condominiums, the theme of inhabitants moving in and out inspired the artists who were emigrants from Poland. Locale is a little farther from home than I would bike, especially on this cold but sunny day. Steamboat hotpot with angler monkfish, squid, beef, pork, mushrooms, cabbage. Long chopsticks for cooking, regular chopsticks for dining. Leisurely Sunday night dinner, resulting soup with rice noodles is warming for the coming winter. Broth was brought to boil in the morning, then simmered in the thermal (vacuum) cooker while were out of the house, making dinner service after sunset easy. On the other side of the fence is a yard of aggregate, amongst many other piles of earth and gravel around the Port Lands. Walked from front of building to the east side, to appreciate the multi-level unit that was home to a family of 9. Decades later, everyone has now moved out of the neighbourhood, most with families of their own.
