- CSI 192
First Climate Ventures peer circle on Systems Thinking @csiTO. Sketching on flipchart sheet as a reference artifact to keep track of conversation on the complex versus the complicated. Informal meeting was scheduled on short notice, we'll try to meet Monday afternoons every three weeks. (Centre for Social innovation, 192 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20181022 - CSI 192
At Climate Ventures space @csiTO for afternoon meeting. Discussed programs, research, potential peer circle topics. Open to new ideas for the new cohort. I'm thinking that starting small may work better for emerging methods. (Centre for Social Innovation, 192 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20181004 - CSI 192
First salad day @csiTO, second official day in new building after the move across the street. Acknowledgement of traditional lands, plus back stories from DECAs. Conversation tables set up with suggested discussion starters on the theme of home. Contributed homemade daikon carrot pickle resulting from spouse having bought too many root vegetables. I'm not Vietnamese, but can follow a simple recipe. (Centre for Social innovation, 192 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20180925 - Crustaceans in tank
Crab towering over lobsters may have slightly longer life, as restaurant had double lobster special. Family dinner with visiting niece fulling in for errant son. Winter day slightly less cold, with snowfall slowing traffic uptown. (Perfect Chinese Restaurant, Scarborough, Ontario) 20150221 - Cruise Ship Terminal
When/if a Great Lakes passenger vessel requiring a second floor gangway docks for a visit, the Port of Toronto is ready. However, the pandemic has pre-empted the cruising season for the year, not that more than a handful of ships have been previously scheduled. The other side of the building has been rented out for film production offices, and the massive parking lot is cordoned off for automobile dealer inventories. (Cruise Ship Terminal, Unwin Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20200624 - Crowd outside Jim's Restaurant
Orange cones on Queen Street mean film crew, not customers in diner. Also cones across street suggest shot will have actors walk over outside ice cream shop. Life when we live beside the film district. (Toronto) 20141124 - Crothers Woods
Long stroll with @redesign from Broadview Avenue down through Todmorden MIlls, around Cottonwood Flats. Is this an old CP Rail line towards Belleville? We encountered two acquaintances and said hello, dispersed social interactions still under pandemic distancing. (Crothers Woods, Broadview North, Toronto, Ontario) 20210722 - Cronyn Observatory
First visit to central campus of Western University, although I had previously attended a class in residency. Saw multiple tour guides leading troops of visitors around. Unexpectedly warm day, locale is further southwest than home. (Hume Cronyn Memorial Observatory, Western Ontario, London, Ontario) 20161118 - Craven Road at Gerrard Street East
Travelling eastbound through Little India, bright splash of colour reveals itself down the side street. With Leslieville School of Dance and Music now occupying the space, the solid beige was boring, and a potential target for tagging. Along the main street, restaurants and cafes have extended over the sidewalk onto the curbside lane. (Craven Road at Gerrard Street East, Little india, Toronto, Ontario) 20210717 - Cranbrook Japanese Garden
Traditional vermillion bridge arch over small waterfall, at the east edge of Kingswood Lake. Placid stroll around the shoreline, with only a small family and dog walker, late on a cloudy afternoon. Arrived after the main house closed for the day, at the end of a journey from Chicago retarded nearly 2 hours by driving rain and road construction. (Cranbrook Japanese Garden, Cranbrook Road, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) 20220715 - Cranbrook Art Museum
A Tiger's Stripes exhibition @CranbrookArtMus @tyrrellwinston, two paintings and sculpture. On left, (2022) Hard to Kill a Spartan; on right (2022) Fab 5, both aluminum panels with auto paint. On floor, (2022) Chamberlain's Dance a twisting of bleachers from the athletic field. (Cranbrook Art Museum, Woodward Avenue, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) 20220716 - Craigleigh Gardens
West gate into city park donated by benefactor in 1926 A.D. Bicycling around residential streets of Rosedale is a good way to see huge houses at a reasonable speed. Many curved roads and ravines of Park Drive and Rosedale Valley confused me on the way to the Evergreen Brickworks. (Craigleith Gardens, South Drive, Rosedale, Toronto, Ontario) 20160903 - Cracker Barrel
Recharging stop #3 of 5 homeward bound, not including the false stop in Davenport that wouldn't connect to vehicle. Optimized routing leads to suburban plazas, where food choices are local to a 30 minute stop when output is 200 kWh, and 60 minutes+ when real rates are less than 100 kWh. Restaurant offering southern cooking hasn't been at the top of my list, but passable for a vegan falling off to fish. (Cracker Barrel, Commercial Drive, Lansing, Michigan) 20230821 - CPH Passport Control
Sign in lounge flashed boarding 55 minutes before departure. Lineup explains why. CPH is more popular than previously experienced. Border control officer was a woman with a sense of humour. (Copenhagen Airport) 20151012 - Cows near the summit
IBM leases some of its land to cattle ranchers near Santa Teresa County Park. Early morning arrival for meetings had greeting of mooing, just across from the parking lot. (IBM Almaden, San Jose, California) 20151215
