- L'Amoureaux Park
Dusk on bike path entrance southwest of McNicoll Ave. and Kennedy Road, along hydro tower right-of-ways. Scarborough has large parks. Biking to TTC Line 2 to Line 3, then biking to my father's apartment took a lot longer than I recalled, and the fast traffic encourages riding on sidewalks devoid of pedestrians. Driving may be a better alternative. (L'Amoureaux Park, Scarborough, Ontario) 20160927 - Fu Yao Supermarket Riverdale
Fresh jackfruit in season in Chinatown, they'll sell you less than the whole. Biked over to replenish the pantry, since the family was away for four days. Shift to Pacific Time and back, late evenings with extended family, and then evening flight home means brainpower low due to to jet lag. (Fu Yao Supermarket Riverdale, Gerrard Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20160621 - Jelly Belly Factory
Families queued in mid morning lineup for self guided factory tour of Jelly Belly production. We weren't in the first 500 visitors who got the free two pounds of candy. We donned hairnets to View operations from overhead windows. (Jelly Belly Factory, Fairfield. California) 20160618 - Oakland Hills
Dinner including 2 babies and 1 toddler, adults served lactose-free, dairy-free and vegetarian diets. Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, dessert of gluten-free cheesecake, vegan chocolate cake and limoncello reflects California variety and quality of food. Network of researchers, but little talk of day jobs, more about visiting and living in the Bay Area. (Oakland Hills, California) 20161017 - Dim Sum King
Spring Festival dinner with the Lowkong Society started with karaoke before the meal was served. During dinner, more karaoke was invited from the audience, drawing a variety of Cantoneese and English lanugage selections. Our family joined in, both with less-than-harmonious vocals and hiphop dancing. (Dim Sum King, Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20220513 - Fortune Seafood Restaurant
Cake topped with fresh fruit to celebrate grandfather's birthday (on the Western calendar) slightly early, and Noah's birthday slightly late. Courses of Vancouver crab, Peking duck, white cut chicken, pork chop, beef with greens, grouper tofu in pot, all finished off by our sons. Restaurant is operated by a new owner since the many years we've been here, the quality will see us return. (Fortune Seafood Restaurant, Midland Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario) 20230225 - Heartland
Halftime show is highlight for non-fans of professional sports, with an ex-varsity football player providing commentary this year. Resumption of annual Superbowl party tradition a reason to celebrate, after some years of pandemic shutdowns. Representation from our family members was low due to travel schedules, we invited a few friends to round up the numbers. (Heartland, Mississauaga, Ontario) 20220212 - Barrows Hall
Talk @SocSciMatrix Tove Frymker visiting from Lund U. at CCRM Center for Catastrophic Risk Management. On "From collective improvisation to collective problem solving". Existing definitions are unclear, taken for granted. At beginning of field research, looking for feedback. (CCRM, Social Science Matrix, University of California Berkeley) 20161026 - St. Mark's Square
Dinner on the plaza next to the stage with musical trio that appeared three times in the course of a leisurely meal. Escaped from conference at Four Seasons, when concentration lost after 9.5 hours of sessions. Walked from The Linq to The Wynn Resort, noting the signature scents at each property. (Mercato Della Pescheria, St. Mark's Square, Venetian Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada) 20161023 - Queen Saulter
Sparks fly from grinding rails, replacing streetcar tracks on short segment on Queen Street East. Scope seems to be limited within the block, but diversions reroute from Broadview to Coxwell up to Gerrard Street for 2 days. Rails were worn, and maintenance was scheduled separate from major construction at Queen and Leslie, not to slow that down. (Queen Street East at Saulter Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20151107 - Stackt Market
Walls labelled by @franceshilaryhahn (2024) This Side, That Side with two classic beach identical beach chairs for @DesignTOFest. Designed as interactive, the difference comes from the person expressing a preference. Somehow feels wrong to sit on an art object as fragile as summer furniture. (Stackt Market, Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontariio) 20240127 - Accelerated Discovery Lab
Discussing @rarar @snousala trajectories of design and research, appreciating generational evolution as interactive technologies have risen. Puzzle includes design at user interface level, and in enterprise systems. (Accelerated Discovery Lab, IBM Almaden Research Centre, San Jose, California) 20161025 - NextEV

In the west room, family came to watch @adriank_yee in Musicians Anonymous jam hosted by @thepom.co . Groove feels like the San Francisco in the 1960s, better than the more univeral 12-bar blues. First in a series expected to repeat on Wednesday evenings, had some slight pauses to run an extension cord across the room, the electronics were drawing too much power off one circuit. (Imperial Pub, Dundas Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20221102 - Old Town, Kaunas
Walking west along the pedestrian mall from New Town, the road turned left onto a cobblestone lowrise medieval neighbourhood. Pedestrians seem to be on a stroll, rather on hanging out in the early spring afternoon. Prior news stories about road construction in the distrct wasn't apparent. (Laisvės alėja 90, Old Town, Kaunas, Lithuania) 20230326
