- Hooked Inc. Leslieville
Bonus sample of variety of salmon sashimi, for birthday in cooking class. Warned that one species isn't normally recommended raw, but knowing your fish makes the difference. (Hooked Inc. Leslieville, Queen Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20190909 - Lalibela
Hosting @mikewittenstein in the multicultural Toronto experience with Ethiopian dinner, eating with our hands. Restaurant reservation was miscommunicated, manager graciously asked other customers to shift to accommodate our group. Our sons might not remember the time we visited Mike in Atlanta, as they were children en route to Disney World. - Devonian Pond
Loose time sees skaters in tights, player with hockey stick, child with trainer, and mother using toddler using stroller to get around the rink. Construction through campus on Gould Street now seems complete, pavement replaced by interlocking stone for pedestrians and cyclists. Hadn't appreciated that the square with the oval pond was opened in 1978 with funding from the Devonian Foundation of Calgary. (Devonian Pond, Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario) 20201223 - Perfect Chinese Restaurant
Weekend busy, so dim sum on a Saturday to convene for Father's Day. For a change, the grandfather is staying in town, and everyone else is in-and-out. Sons added guest from the Lowkong clan, there's is another generation in the neighbourhood that meets more frequently than the regular formal events. Plenary @sgeobey @CoopsCanada #platformcoop Research & Policy Questions (Bram & Bluma Appel Salon, Toronto Public Library) 20170909 - MPI WEC
Experience design the main thrust of @mikewittenstein presentation @MPI WEC. Leaders want strategy execution, but attendees (customers) expect full-on experiences. Agenda tailored to Getting Better Meeting Outcomes, hands-on table breakouts applying methods with team observers, and then journey mapping. The last time I saw this friend formally present is pushing 2 decades. - Asian Legend Dundas
Casual seasonal dinner for #DesignWithDialogue #SystemsThinkingOntario #UnifyToronto core organizing group, with regrets from those escaping the shortening winter days. More formal meeting will be held in January, yet some cross-group direction has been navigated. (Asian Legend, Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20181214 - @Nuvango Gallery DwD
Sustainable Design for Flourishing Fashion led by @KellyOkamura at Design with Dialogue event a little farther west on Queen Street. Second floor gallery hardwood floors and high ceilings on renovated building reminders of Toronto 100 years ago, when manufacturing industries reigned. Welcomed into study group by I Ching master Benfeng Zhu. Lessons are practically held in Mandarin Chinese, so aided by bilingual learners to appreciate throwing of coins, sketching hexagrams, and interpreting changes. My reading of multiple books translated into English, plus smartphone apps, have gotten me beyond beginner's level. Deeper insight into the underlying five elements theory, and its relation to lunar calendar, will require more scholarly inquiry. The group clubhouse, active for one year, overlooks a pedestrian bridge over a small stream feeding into Petticoat Creek.
