- Lisgar Park
Sculptural playground climber of logs may be better than artificial materials, planned as a safe place for toddlers. In the plaza beyond, trees sparsely ring the open space, yet it seems unlikely that children would attempt ascending. Park is a former 1900s warehouse site, constructed between 2014-2016, with the rise of apartments in the district. (Lisgar Park, Abell Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20210723 - Gate403 RoamToronto cello
Some new compositions by @RoamToronto in acoustic trio @Gate403 early evening show. Occasion for spousal date night in Roncesvalles Village. First set audience had infant in baby carrier, restaurant filled up by second set. Roam is Lisa Patterson (accordion, sax, piano), Alex McMaster (cello), Justin Abedin (guitar). (Gate 403, Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20160429 - Front year garden in Hull England 20110716
Flowers stretch westward, hoping for the sun on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Hull, England. A typical residential street, with two-storey houses in rows. (Hull, UK) 20110716 1700 - Torrential downpour at Regent Park
Should have checked the weather radar before going cycling. Rode to other side of Don River before rain started pouring down. Took refuge under big trees for five minutes until rain lightened. My preferred time for exercise coincides with after rush hour, so today's air may have been cleaner than usual. (Toronto) 20110815 1801 - OCADU RSD5
Workshop @RSDSymposium @OCAD U Toronto led by @snousala on Design X and Systemic Design precedes Emerging Practices meeting at Tongji U Shanghai by only a day, can't be in two places at one time. Organic approach to discussing led to five groups with different perspectives on the future of design. Further digesting into findings is taking more time offline. (Relating Systems Thinking and Design Symposium, OCAD U, Toronto, Ontario) 20161013 - Varsity Stadium
Blue and white are the colours for UToronto, so the track is thus themed. Summer session officially starts in 2 days, although the pandemic stay-at-home order precludes organized athletics, even outside. View south catches the CN Tower, a landmark years before the field was constructed. - Elgin Theatre
Bows @ComeFromAwayTO performance, I enjoyed but had unexpected anxieties from 9/11 memories of being across the Hudson River from the Twin Towers, at Palisades NY in 2001. My #4 son would have been 8 years old then, it's hard to relate how the USA changed that day, and hasn't been the same since. On the Tuesday morning we were teaching a class; on the Thursday, I drove to Albany, rode a train to Buffalo, and picked up a rental car to Toronto. I remember the ordinariness of the restaurant lunch with my spouse on that bright Friday afternoon. (Elgin Theatre, Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20190611 - DI_20150926 100523 AvGrandPrix entry

- FedEx Ship Centre
In the Port Lands district, dropping off laptop computer return, with job change. Original Thinkpad carton fits exactly in the large shipping box, must be more than a coincidence. Distribution centre has tall grasses indigenous to the Toronto Harbour marshes, better than a lawn. (FedEx Ship Centre, Commissioners Street, Port Lands, Torotno, Ontario) 20200706 - Systems Thinking Ontario
Judith Rosen describing Anticipatory Systems Theory, being alive as Metabolism and Repair, complexity and the modeling relation, and refreshing on the Aristotelian four causes. Deep thinking covering a lot of territory in less than 2 hours. A return visit when university is in session is called for. (Systems Thinking Ontario, Lambert Lounge, OCAD University, 100 McCaul Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20160518 - Strada Lane
Tracks originally leading to Toronto Container Port are covered over by pavement, southbound curving to the west. On the other side of the fence is a yard of aggregate, amongst many other piles of earth and gravel around the Port Lands. Turning basin to the west, Tommy Thompson Park to the south, Leslie Street Allotment Gardens to the east. (Strada Lane, Port Lands, Toronto, Ontario) 20200407 - Kites and tent at Woodbine Beach, Victoria Day 2011
A string of kites, and a snall tent on the sand at Woodbine Beach. Victoria Day marks the unofficial start of summer in Canada. Shorts and sandals at 24 degrees C, cool breeze. 20110523 1800 - DI_20160617 234154 KoiPalaceDublin tea groom grandfather maternal
