Upstairs former Toronto Stock Exchange currently a wide open space, building registered as historic. (Design Exchange, Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20170728 - Onsite Gallery

Dealing on a used bike, AKY negotiated a bike helmet and a better seat with seat post. Moving here from Vancouver, wanted a bike for winter. Chose lighter model without front shocks. Also tried out guitar amplifier, but will defer to another day. (Queen Jones Pawnbroker, Leslieville, Queen Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20170726 - Woodbine Park
Dance platform in front of Son de Cuba Orquestra at Beaches Jazz Latin Carnival, for audience who can't sit still to the beats. Many families in lounge chairs enjoying the music and weather, fenced off area for beer garden to the south. Such an embarrassment of riches for music festivals this summer, so little time. (Beaches Jazz Latin Carnival, Woodbine Park, Toronto, Ontario) 20170715 - EditDX
Prosthetic @unyq Lisa Ludwig @eythorbender @EditDX personalized style, 3D printing economics brings cost within government copayment ranges. (EditDX, 21 Don Roadway, East Harbour, Toronto, Ontario) 20170927 - Yamate Dori gate, Shinagawa-ku
Unexpected wooden gate at west end of main street, just northeast of Shimbamba station. Wayfaring for a new art gallery, routed through Shinagawa station, intending on train 2 stops south, but mistakenly got trapped on the express service to Haneda Airport. Rode circle back and used smartphone to navigate through a tidy neighbourhood, definitely few non-residents in the area. (Yamate Dori gate, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Japan) 20170330 - EditDX
Innovation @ActuaCEO @EditDX with youth, build confidence with doing science; show role models in middle years; and then build skills. Need to invest in the innovation capacity of youth. Using technology is a small part of being digitally literate. (EditDX, 21 Don Roadway, East Harbour, Toronto, Ontario) 20170929 - Golden Gate Bakery
Assessed egg tarts warm out of oven as very good, but maybe not worth a 45 minute wait, unless you're with family and friends that you haven't seen in a while. A shared experience. (Golden Gate Bakery, Chinatown, San Francisco, California) 20170319 - Victoria College Chapel
Used book sale fills the pews, pipe organ not in use late on Saturday afternoon. Inventory seems depleted halfway through the event days, volunteers said the first day was jammed with people. Minor purchase of two paperbacks, we have cartons of our own castoffs ready for donation. (Victoria College Chapel, Charles Street West, University of Toronto, Ontario) 20170923 - Pine Hills Cemetery
Lowkong Society annual cemetery visit, Victoria Day weekend so cold that we could see the breath of the speakers. Usual roast pigs, duck, chicken and steamed rice cake for al fresco lunch. We took our oranges and apples home before the rain started. (Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough, Ontario) 20170521 - Vantaa Gate 22
Mobile installation of white sheets above an airport gate moves slowly with the air flows higher in the terminal. Walked from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 in hopes of viewing the advertised art installations at Gate 31, but aborted that plan when the long linear nature of the terminal emperiled catching my departure from Gate 15. There used to be an art installation in Terminal 1, now since replaced by a boring row of carrals for working. (Helsinki Airport, Vantaa, Finland) 20170817 - Riverside
Rare occasion with entire family in town, so Chinese beef stew plus last minute duck and BBQ pork. Unusual congregation in front of television to watch Star Trek Discovery premiere. (Riverside neighbourhood, Toronto, Ontario) 20170924 - Ueno Park
Bloom of Cherry Blossoms attracts many Japanese to Ueno Park. so space is measured off with tarpaulins underneath, to allow visiting groups to socialize, picnic (and drink alcohol). Tradition of removing shoes is preserved even outdoors. Large garbage bins have been placed nearby, with signs to reduce confusion about sorting. (Ueno Park, Taito, Tokyo, Japan) 20170325 - Gould Street
Unexpected installations for @timberfever @RyersonDAS design-build competition in middle of pedestrian mall. Shells of reading room with books scattered, in case passersby pause for some literary edification. (Gould Street, Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario) 20170926 - Natrel Pond
Paddleboat congestion around the fountain at the Natrel Pond. Busy summer Saturday, lineups for 15-minute rentals. Water is only thigh deep, saw a boater jump out to change direction by pushing. (Natrel Pond, Harbourfront, Queen's Quay West, Toronto, Ontario) 20170729
