- Valleta de Piro
Picking ripe olives off the tree, they weren't ready a few weeks ago. The nuts from the almond trees are finished for the year. Lots of rosemary and other herbs on the land, research required to identify other species. Shallow cave is a rock shelter, function to be determined. (Valleta de Piro, La Torre de l'Espanyol, Tarragona, Spain) 20221009 - 111 Elizabeth Street
On request, farewell speech by @Ryan_Ing, upon his coming departure from Toronto to NYC this coming week. Friends invited to parktake in food, a psychic reading, and a pro protographer creating a collage of faces for the evening. Guests asking parents about the move to the Big Apple, it's not even a change in time zone away from us. (111 Elizabeth Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20210319 - 120 Bloor Street East
Martin Bunch at Systems Thinking Ontario presenting on Ecosystem Approaches to Health, with 3 case studies. Uptown venue for first session to include remote electronic participation, started off with the dreaded delay of fumbling with technology. (120 Bloor Street East, Toronto, Ontario) 20170517 - 138 D'Arcy Street
Spadina Chinatown #CommunityFridge @cf___to woefully empty, as it was in a visit a few weeks ago. Arrival on bicycle today had group of elderly Chinese ladies coming out, even before I could open the cabinet door. Cross-town commute is extra exercise, passing over the 348 Pape Avenue location where the fridge has sadly been removed. (138 D'Arcy Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20200620 - 156 Booth Ave.
Across our street, two alarm fire at 3:30 a.m. called out 12 trucks and 45 firefighters. This morning, the exit out the front of our house was blocked as a crime scene. One neighbour has an exterior video camera capturing intruders on the scene in the night. Fire trucks are now gone, yellow police tape is around that property. Houses to the north and south both damaged. (156 Booth Avenue, Riverside district, Toronto, Ontario) 20170627 - 168 Asian Mart
Michigan evening for Chinese groceries before driving to Iowa in the morning. Korean-style rice grown in the U.S. is something we don't see back home. The vegetables and sauces are much the same as everywhere. (168 Asian Mart, John R Road, Madison Heights, Michigan) 20160502 - 18 Yonge
South of overhead rail tracks, @OtternessStudio 2007 "Immigrant Family" bronze in front of #Lanterra building reflects the hope for the future amongst new arrivals to the city. Migrants from Eastern Europe arrived after WWII by ship to Halifax, and by train to Toronto. In the block just north of the elevated Gardiner Expressway, the sculpture is well lit, but the site isn't on the beaten path for pedestrians. (Immigrant Family sculpture, Yonge Street north of Lake Shore Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario) 20200728 - 2 St. Clair Avenue West
View northward on Yonge Street from shows trees of Mount Pleasant Cemetery, and the towers along Eglinton Avenue and beyond. Before 1973, the subway only ran to Eglinton Avenue, called North Toronto, and Rosedale up to St. Clair Avenue was the affluent residential area. This intersection isn't the destination that it used to be. (2. St. Clair Avenue West, Deer Park, Toronto, Ontario) 20161005 - 20100327 0330 Toronto HMV Superstore, Elizabeth Shepherd

- 20110824 Edward Gardens 26th Renewal of Vows
For the 26th consecutive year, DY have returned to renew our vows at the same fountain where we were originally married, at Edward Gardens. The answer was, again, that we're committed for another year. It pays to reflect on the year past, and look to the year forward on our relationship as a regular event. Forecast for tornado later in the evening didn't deter us, we can't remember ever being rained out. (Toronto) 20110824 1815 - 20110831 Seicho no Ie temple, Scarborough, Ontario
Striking modernist temple with Japanese touches is Seicho no Ie, the world's largest New Thought group. Never heard of this religion, had to look up on Wikipedia. In eastern Toronto, on Victoria Park Avenue just north of Danforth Avenue, encountered bicycling south from St. Clair 20110831 - 20111112-Planters-EastYorkCivicCentre
With frost coming, does the city put cabbages into its planters? I'm not a gardener, so I don't recognize flora well. (East York Civic Centre) 20111112 1549 - 20120520 Pine Hills Cemetery
Annual visit of the Low Kong Society to the Ing monument at Pine Hills Cemetery. Usual offering of scotch and burning hell money. I wonder what beverage might be spilled for a non-drinker. (Scarborough, ON) 20120520 1342
