Town of Gravenhurst Baby Boomers Reunion for attendees of Gravenhurst Public School or Gravenhurst High School born between 1946 and 1964. (Gull Lake Rotary Park, Gravenhurst, Ontario) 20160716 - Gravenhurst childhood
Eyeglass frames, late 1960s or early 1970s, broken but not discarded in the accumulated family legacy. These may have been my brother's or mine, there was no optician in our home town, so orders had to come by mail. Artifacts of a life so long ago, and trash in today's context. (Muskoka Road S., Gravenhurst, Ontario) 20191013 - Gravenhurst Opera House
Drove up to my hometown with my father, for a stay of one or two days, to check out the building across the street from the local landmark. Discovering how many loose ends for the family might need wrapping up. Could be the first overnight in the apartment since before DY and I married. (Opera House, Muskoka Road South, Gravenhurst, Ontario) 20190820 - Gravenhurst Public School
I recall going to the "new" modern building of Gravenhurst Public School at Grade 4, having spent kindergarten though Grade 3 in an older structure. Walking two blocks west from our restaurant on the main street seemed so much farther with shorter legs. Fond memories of kind teachers, plus one so strict that she was nicknamed "Sarge". Graduated to Gravenhurst High School next door. (Gravenhurst Public School, Mary Street S., Gravenhurst, Ontario) 20190915 - Greek hot table
Old style casual dining has moved north up Pape Avenue. Cooks on open kitchen behind warming trays including specials of the day, in continual Greek conversation. Sunday lunch away from the crowds, and so much food that we took half of it home. Must be a neighbourhood institution, as guests are asked whether they'll be dining in our taking out. (The Greek Grill, East York, Toronto) 20150913 - Green Room
Bright lights in alley led me to find the Green Room, a student hangout bar in the Annex. Was open in the 1970s when I was student, and I never went. Was closed for a long time, then recently reopened. I still don't drink, so it's not a real attraction for me. (Toronto) 20111005 20:28 www.memoryarchive.org/en/The_Green_Room,_Toronto,_1999,_b... - Greenwood Park
View westward into downtown Toronto, spring weather has arrived. Before 1920, the pit now Greenwood Park was once a deep brickyard dating back into the 1900s. Community gardens are still untended from the winter. Children enjoying the 15 degrees C temperature, after freezing temperatures just a week ago. (Greenwood Park, Greenwood Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20160418 - Greenwood Yard
With a capacity for 328 cars, half of the subway trains for the city are stored here overnight. Site is 61 acres on the eastern branch, surrounded by residential houses on three sides, and intercity rail to the south. Curious about the wye triangular junction underground between Donlands station to the northwest, and Greenwood station to the northeast. (TTC Greenwood Yard, Greenwood Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) 20210817 - Gristmill Lane
Spiky illuminated art installation named The Snow Family resembling the uniqueness of snowflakes on Gristmill Lane. Winter Village market on December 27 was busy with visitors on the Boxing Day observance, when most other venues were still closed for holidays. Tourist-oriented kiosks welcomed customers, regular businesses and galleries had locked doors. (Gristmill Lane, Distillery District, Toronto, Ontario) 20221227 - Grooveyard @torontojazzfest
Toddlers @shopsdonmills dance with happy feet as jazz musicians play pop and R&B repertoire. Slight personnel substitution due to double booking with other events around town? Maybe the kids will appreciate more sessions jazz when they get a little older. Grooveyard gets the audience to sing along, while their other personas would not have words. (Shoppes at Don Mills) 20150618 - GTA R Users Group
Graduate students @mbonsma @JS_Santangelo @ahmedrhasan lead #RStats livecoding course @eebtoronto , @gta_r_users briefed. Experiences published @JOSS_TheOJ http://dx.doi.org/10.21105/jose.00049 . Association Rules in #RStats #MichaelEnquist @gta_r_users. Major grocery chain dataset with 50,000 customers, 37,000 merchandise items leading to sparse matrix. Apriori algorithm with support at 0.00001 results in 167000 rules. Unlike to run the complete dataset in a reasonable amount of time, more intelligence makes it a popular approach.
