- University College
Not usual West Hall for @UCBookSale, as major renovation blocks the way to many rooms. Selected a few systems books that are hard to find. Slightly disconcerted to find an edition inscribed from one researcher to another, both whom I've known and are no longer with us. (Laidlaw Library, University College, University of Toronto, Ontario) 20181012 - Onsite Gallery
Wool hand-tufted textile @ONSITEatOCADU @alexkeha (2015) "Stele" (which is defined as "the central core of the stem and root of a vascular plant"). Part of The Sunshine Eaters exhibition, artists and designers looking at land, plants, flowers and trees. (Onsite Gallery, OCAD University, Richmond Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20180309 - HackLabTO
Remote @HackLabTO celebration of @longnow 50th anniversary of Whole Earth Catalog, @MrEricBoyd served homemade chocolate cake. Comparing August 1972 edition of The Last Whole Earth Catalog with the 1986 Ten Years of Coevolution Quarterly, with 2013 Cool Tools, and with 2006 World Changing. - Bissell Building
UToronto iSchool students self-organizing into teams who will lead presentation-facilitation in the Systems Thinking, Systems Design Information Workshop running for 6 weeks. Started lecture with student reading the syllabus on their phones and computers, due to AV issues with equipment in the room. (Bissell Building, St. George Street, University of Toronto) 20180110 - OCADU
Signing postcard for @petri at book launch for Open Innovation Learning. Open access book is free at openinnovationlearning.com , so the traditional momento from an author book signing is modified for the 21st century. A physical book can be published on demand, but it's better to save some trees! (Photo courtesy of Noah Ing). (OCADU Auditorium, McCaul Street, Toronto, Ontario) 20180222 - Osaka Castle
Wandered into park when contemporary art at Osaka Prefecture Government doesn't exist anymore, then Museum of History closed today. Loose schedule, so riding subway around town not quite randomly. (Osaka Castle Park) 20150303 - Storefront art
Lovebot concrete robot statues by Matthew Del Degan inside the sales centre for Riverside Square development, which will be on the south side of Queen Street, east of the Dion River. A winter stroll through our changing neighbourhood. (Toronto) 20150111 - Baotong Temple Vegetarian
Our group shared the widest variety of Buddhist vegan cuisine that I have ever encountered. We were hosted by the restaurant manager, whose son had been guided to graduate studies abroad by SN. The luxury of a large, air-conditioned room on the second floor, meticulously prepared foods and attentive servers were a refreshing follow-on from climbing uphill through many temple halls, and navigating steep steps up the pagoda. (Baotong Temple Vegetarian 宝通寺素食菜馆, Wuhan, PR China) 20180421 - SFO Museum
Isamu Noguchi (1986) "Akari Table Lamp Model VB13-T" made of washi paper, bamboo and metal. Display cases in International Terminal showing Japanese-American designer (1904-1988), where 2-dimensional origami folding influences 3-dimensional objects. (San Francisco International Airport, International Terminal G, California). 20180517 - Real cattails, bronze birds

Three tables for lunch, more than originally thought would attend at the first gathering of the Lowkong Society after the pandemic halted socializing. The house on Huron Street is now in the past, so we'll look to a new future. Met a few cousins, an era of English-first speakers now shows much grey hair. (Dim Sum King, Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario) 20220320 - Godly Nanjing Road
Intersecting @doug_schuler to discuss pattern language research trajectories. He is at end of visit from Seattle, we are at beginning from Toronto. After vegan duck, fish belly, beef and crab meat, walked through People's Park marriage market umbrellas. (Godly Nanjing Road, Shanghai, PR China) 20180415 - DI_20160618 202104 HeatherFarm fruitstand
