Dark style of George Rodrigue (1973) Sugar Bridge over Coulée (Straub's Coulée) emerged over three years. Found contrast between Texas with wide open sky and large scape, compared to Cajun landscape as closed, dark, with very small sky. An early work in the Before the Blue Dog exhibition.
